Account information: your name, email address, phone number, and username, collected when you register or update your settings.

Intake and interview information: your answers to intake questions, notes from your matchmaker interview, dating preferences, values, and relationship goals — anything you share as part of getting matched.

Identity and background check information: information needed to verify your identity and conduct a background check, collected directly from you and from our verification vendor.

Communications: messages you send through our contact form, email, or to your matchmaker, and your newsletter subscription email if you sign up.

Booking and attendance information: which dates and events you book, attend, cancel, or no-show.

Technical information: IP address, browser and device type, and basic usage logs generated automatically when you use the Service, and your language and light/dark theme preference, stored locally in your browser.

To operate the Service: create and secure your account, run background checks, match you with a matchmaker, arrange blind dates and events, and process bookings, cancellations, and payments.

To communicate with you: send magic-link sign-in emails, booking confirmations, matchmaker follow-ups, customer support replies, and — if you opt in — our newsletter.

To keep the Service safe: detect fraud, enforce our Code of Conduct, and protect members during dates and events.

To improve the Service: understand how the Service is used and fix problems, using the technical information described above.

To comply with legal obligations, such as responding to lawful requests from authorities.

As part of membership, we collect identity and background check information about you and share the minimum necessary details with a third-party verification vendor to perform that check on our behalf. Verification results are used only to decide whether to admit or continue serving a member and are not shared with other members.

You may be asked to provide government-issued identification or other documents to complete verification. We retain verification records only as long as needed for safety and legal purposes, as described in Section 6.

With service providers who help us run the Service on our behalf, including our database and authentication provider, background check vendor, email and newsletter provider, and payment processor. These providers may only use your information to perform services for us.

With other members, but only limited information needed for an introduction to make sense — such as your first name, age range, and matchmaker-curated summary. We do not share your contact details, full background check results, or intake notes with other members.

For legal reasons, if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Curated Lovers, our members, or the public.

In a business transfer, if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

We do not sell your personal information.

We use one essential cookie set by our authentication provider to keep you securely signed in. This cookie is required for the Service to function and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

We use your browser's local storage to remember your language and light/dark theme preference. This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.

As of this Policy's last update, we do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies. If that changes, we will update this Policy accordingly.

We retain account and intake information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period after closure in case you rejoin or to meet legal, safety, and record-keeping obligations. Background check records are retained only as long as necessary for the purpose they were collected for, after which they are deleted or anonymized.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You can review and update your account information at any time from your settings page.

You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any newsletter email.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@curatedlovers.com — we will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.

Closing your account does not automatically delete background check or safety records we are permitted or required to retain, as described in Section 6.

We and our service providers may process and store your information in countries other than the one where you live, including outside your home country in our four cities. Where we do, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information receives an adequate level of protection.

The Service is not directed to, and not intended for use by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the Service before the changes take effect.
